Ruin Stalker

Ruin Stalker

3rd-level Ruin Stalker feature

Ruin Stalkers are rangers who specialize in exploring the dangerous remnants of pre-Unveiling civilization. They navigate collapsed skyscrapers, bypass ancient security systems, and hunt the twisted creatures that nest in forgotten vaults. For them, the crumbling cities are not graveyards—they're hunting grounds.

Ruin Stalker Magic

Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Ruin Stalker Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Ranger Level Spell
3rd detect magic
5th knock
9th dispel magic
13th fabricate
17th passwall

Urban Explorer

At 3rd level, you've become an expert at navigating ruined structures. You gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on Survival and Investigation checks made in urban or ruined environments.
  • You have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
  • You can move across difficult terrain caused by rubble, broken glass, or structural collapse without expending extra movement.

Scavenger's Eye

At 3rd level, you have a knack for finding valuable items in ruins. When you spend at least 1 minute searching an area, you can make a Wisdom (Perception) or Intelligence (Investigation) check (DC determined by the DM). On a success, you find something useful: a piece of pre-Unveiling technology, a hidden cache, or valuable salvage. The DM determines what you find.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Relic Hunter

At 7th level, you've learned to identify and safely handle dangerous pre-Unveiling technology. You have advantage on Intelligence (Arcana) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks related to technological items. Additionally, when you make a saving throw against a trap or hazard in a ruin, you can add your Wisdom modifier to the roll.

Ambush Predator

At 11th level, you excel at striking from the shadows of ruined structures. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack while you have advantage on the attack roll, the attack deals an extra 2d6 damage.

Additionally, if you are hidden when you roll initiative, you can move up to half your speed as part of rolling initiative. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.

Master of Ruins

At 15th level, you've become the ultimate ruin delver. You gain the following benefits:

  • You have blindsight out to a range of 30 feet (useful for navigating collapsed structures).
  • You have resistance to damage from traps and environmental hazards in ruins.
  • Once per turn, when you hit a construct or a creature in a ruined or urban environment, you deal an extra 1d8 damage.
