"We didn't just survive the ash. We learned to breathe it."
Two hundred years of living under the Veil has changed those born after the Unveiling. Ash-Touched humans have adapted to the toxic environment, developing resistance to poisons and diseases that would kill their ancestors. Their skin often has a grayish pallor, and many have unusually colored eyes—silver, amber, or pale violet.
Ash-Touched are the most numerous of the surviving peoples, making up the bulk of Domain populations, Outlander tribes, and ruin-delving crews. They are pragmatic survivors who've made peace with the broken world—it's the only world they've ever known.
