The Brass Saint, Lord of Dathmor, He Who Refused Death
Nature: Saint Carmael was a pre-Unveiling priest who became undead during the catastrophe but retained his mind and claimed continued divine authority. He rules Dathmor through brass automata. Is he truly a saint? A fraud? Something in between?
Appearance: A preserved corpse in holy vestments, skin like parchment, eyes like polished stones. Speaks through brass automata choir. Still performs miracles—or claims to.
Cleric Domains: Death, Order, Grave
Warlock Patrons: Undying (if your DM allows it) or Great Old One (if Carmael's power comes from something darker)
Philosophy: Death is not the end. Faith transcends mortality. Order and structure preserve civilization. The Church continues even in apocalypse.
Followers: Citizens of Dathmor, those seeking order in chaos, undead seeking meaning, pragmatists who don't care if he's legitimate
Symbols: Brass gears with holy symbols, preserved roses, chains (order)
Rituals: Mass led by brass automata, preservation ceremonies, soul market regulations (treated as religious law)
Personality (for Warlocks): Carmael is distant, formal, utterly convinced of his own legitimacy. Warlocks receive visions of his memories—both holy devotion and the horror of undeath.
