Morthannis the Grave Keeper

Morthannis the Grave Keeper

God of Death, The Gentle End, Guardian of the Afterlife (Silent)

Before the Unveiling: Morthannis guided souls to peaceful rest. He was neither evil nor good—simply the necessary end. Death was natural, and he made it gentle. Funeral priests served him.

Now: Horrifying silence. What happens to souls now? The Unveiling tore reality—did it tear the afterlife too? Souls are sold in Dathmor. Undead walk freely. Where is the god who should shepherd the dead?

Cleric Domains: Death, Grave, Twilight
Philosophy (Before): Death is natural. Honor the dead. Grant them rest. Guide souls gently. Prevent undeath.

Followers: Mostly morticians, grave keepers, and those horrified by Dathmor's soul markets. They oppose soul trade as blasphemy but lack divine support to stop it.
Symbols: Hourglasses, gravestones, closed eyes, peaceful faces
Current Rituals: Funerals that feel incomplete, soul-shepherding rites that might not work, desperate prayers for guidance on what to do with the dead
